Recently , a training programme on Micro Food Processing was launched at Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. It was sponsored by National Bank for Agricultural And Rural Development . The programme is called Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) which mainly focuses on training rural women in processing pickled And jam. A Common Facility Centre(CFC) was inaugurated on the occasion. The training programme intends to train SHG members in quality production skills along with supporting pickle and jam micro enterprises with another NABARD scheme of SHG Bank Linkage. This CFC unit is well equipped with will serve as a model packaging unit. With state of the art technology it will attract more enterprises to invest. With more skilled women entrepreneurs emerging in the Himalayas , value addition to the Himalayan Economy appears  quite reassuring.
