The World Economic Forum provides a platform for the world’s 1,000 leading companies to shape a better future. As a membership organization, the Forum engages businesses in projects and initiatives – online and offline – to address industry, regional and systemic issues.
Members and Partners benefit from tailored engagement based on their company strategy. The deeper a company’s engagement, the greater is its ability to shape the Forum agenda.

Each World Economic Forum Industry community comprises select Partner companies that are shaping and transforming their industries in strategic and socially responsible ways. The Industry Governors community comprises chief executives and chairpersons who provide leadership, define the industry agenda and drive change.
The industry communities provide a platform for chief executives and senior executives with strategic, business or regional responsibilities to shape the industry and develop insights through Forum-hosted platforms and communities.
World Economic Forum Strategic Partners represent leading global companies, each providing essential leadership to support the Forum’s mission of improving the state of the world. Only the most recognized corporations with demonstrated track records of good governance and alignment with Forum values are invited to join this group.
Their economic and social significance means that Strategic Partner companies play a critical role as corporate global citizens. They shape the future through extensive contribution to developing and implementing Forum projects and championing public-private dialogue.
Strategic Partners enjoy broad experience engaging with a minimum of five platforms. Access to Forum networks and experts allows participation in strategic decision-making on the most important industry and cross-industry issues.
The Strategic Partner company’s chief executive officer or chairperson is typically the driving force in Forum communities, events and projects, and is personally involved in decision-making and shaping many Forum initiatives. The most senior executives also participate on steering boards and in advisory groups, where relevant.
World Economic Forum Strategic Partner Associates include the world’s leading businesses, and are actively involved in shaping the future of industries, regions and systemic issues. These companies believe in corporate global citizenship and are committed to enabling positive change.
Strategic Partner Associates engage with up to four Platforms. Access to Forum multistakeholder networks and experts allows participation in strategic decision-making on the most important industry and cross-industry issues.
Strategic Partner Associates are represented at Forum communities, events and projects by the chief executive officer, chairperson or other board-level executives. These executives are personally involved in decision-making and shaping the Forum’s Platforms.
World Economic Forum Partners are world-class companies with a strong interest in developing systemic solutions to key challenges. They are the driving force behind Forum programmes.
Partners may engage in up to three Platforms. Access to Forum networks and experts provides Partners with visibility and time-sensitive insight into strategic decision-making on the issues most important to them.
Partners are represented in Forum communities, events and projects by the chief executive, chairperson or other board-level executives. These executives are personally involved in decision-making and steering of initiatives.
World Economic Forum Associate Partner companies are active participants in Forum communities and have а strong interest in addressing challenges affecting their operations and society at large. Associate Partners are entitled to engage in one Platform.
Associate Partners work closely with the Forum to advance projects in their areas of interest. They enjoy access to Forum networks and expertise, which affords both visibility and time-sensitive insight into strategic decision-making on the systemic issues most important to them. They are represented in Forum communities, events, and projects by the chief executive officer, chairperson or other board-level executives.
The Global Innovators Community is an invitation-only group of the world’s most promising start-ups and scale-ups that are at the forefront of technological and business model innovation.
Amid major global disruptions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a critical moment for innovative companies to bring forward new ideas and innovations to help protect the lives and livelihoods of communities and industries around the world.
As the Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, the World Economic Forum provides the Global Innovators Community with a platform to engage with the public- and private-sector leaders and to contribute new solutions to overcome the current crisis and build future resiliency.
